The lawful recording comes after the FTC's bombed work to obstruct the arrangement over claims that the consolidation would hurt rivalry by giving Microsoft (MSFT) select command over significant computer game titles, for example, "Important mission at hand."
US Locale Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said Tuesday she won't obstruct Microsoft from finalizing the negotiation as the FTC had inquired.
The FTC had requested a starter order while a different legitimate test to the consolidation unfurls in the organization's in-house managerial court.
The decision made on Tuesday paved the way for Microsoft to possibly close the deal with Activision before the contractual deadline of July 18. Alternately, the businesses could work together to extend that period.
Culminating the arrangement would transform Microsoft into the third biggest computer game distributer on the planet, after Tencent and Sony.
In her opinion published on Tuesday, Corley stated that the US government had "not shown it is likely to succeed on its assertion the combined firm will probably pull Call of Duty from Sony PlayStation, or that its ownership of Activision content will significantly lessen competition in the video game library subscription and cloud gaming markets."
